New Markets & Disruptions

Synthetic Biology will not only disrupt existing markets but create plenty of completely new markets. Being able to recombine modules from the programming language of life, we will for sure come up with new use cases that didn't exist yet. Just think of the new markets that computers and the internet have brought us.

De-Extinction of mammoths with CRISPR

With the latest advancements of SynBio, scientists have assembled the complete genome of mammoths and compared them to living elephants. By restoring the differences in the DNA of both species, it is likely that in the upcoming years, a mammoth like animal might be born from an elephant.

DNA as Storage Medium

DNA is natures natural storage medium for information. Right from the beginning, it was and is the most advanced and dense storage medium that exists. Also, information can last for thousands of years. Costs and reading the storage efficiently are the main research missions at the moment.
